Of course we all know that we should eat our fruits and vegetables. For most people it has been engrained in us since we were children, whether we liked it or not. As adults, most people have the basic knowledge of what foods are nutritious. But do you know what the ideal diet would look like? What are the most nutritious foods in the world?
Firstly, how does one classify the most nutritious foods in the world-each one has their own nutritional value and provides different essential vitamins and nutrients. Among the thousands of different foods our world provides, a large percentage of them contain contain several of the nutrients our bodies need but to be included as one of the World&undefined;s Healthiest Foods they have to meet specific criteria. The foods on this list are there because they are nutrient dense and are the best sources of many of the nutrients that our bodies need to achieve optimal health. Nutrient density is a measure of the amount of nutrients a food contains in comparison to the number of calories. The world&undefined;s healthiest foods are a comprised list of foods that will provide vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids, fiber and more for the least number of calories. On this list of foods there are different categories which list the healthiest foods for each. Of the vegetables asparagus, avocados, beets, bell peppers, broccoli, brussell sprouts, cabbage, and carrots are included. For fruits apples, apricots, bananas, blueberries, canteloupe, cranberries, figs, and grapefruit are all noted. In the bean and legume category black beans dried peas, garbanzo bean, and kidney beans have all made the nutrition list.
Of course there are many other foods that exist which did not make the list but that does not mean they are not nutritious. As long as you eat a diet filled with whole foods which are not processed you are in the clear. It is very important to eat a variety of different foods so that you can benefit from each one and the nutritional value that they provide.

There are a lot of nutritious foods that nature has given us and to make a list of all the nutritious foods would not be an easy job because each food have its own nutritive value. Almost all fruits and vegetables provides us with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids, fiber...etc, and we eat whatever the season brings and whichever tastes good in our mouth however more important than the taste should be its nutritive value which can help us achieve the maximum benefit.
