This herb has been used in China for over 2,500 years for cooking and for its medicinal qualities. Ginger tea also stimulates the secretion of mucus and soothes the throat which means that it is great when you have a cold. Researchers predict that ginger will soon be used in cancer treatment. One study involved mice which were injected with ginger extract. Those who received the injections developed fewer skin tumors compared with those who did not receive the injections.
