Summer Hangover Cures

Along with sunshine and warm weather, summer brings with it hangovers. All of those outdoor BBQ’s, beach parties and patio days can add up to dehydration and hangovers if you aren’t careful. Although there is no better cure for a hangover than avoiding alcohol in the first place, it doesn’t mean you aren’t going to have a little fun, if only once in a while. If you do indulge this summer, here are a few natural hangover cures:

1. A hot shower. Although it may be tempting to not shower on a bad hangover day and just hang out on the couch all day, a hot shower is a great cure for a hangover. The hot water and steam will open your pores and help you sweat out that alcohol and relieve your headache.

2. Ginger.  Ginger capsules, ginger tea and a fresh squeezed juice drink with added fresh ginger will cure your hangover. Ginger is known for curing a upset stomach, so this herb is the best decision when you are feeling nauseous from the night before. Of course, drinking any kind of liquid is essential for a hangover to get rid of the dehydration factor but put some ginger in your drink and you will feel better in no time.

3. Exercise. It may be the last thing on your list to do when you are hung over, but a good sweat can do wonders to chase away that hangover. Sweating will eliminate the alcohol from the night before and also release feel good endorphins to make you feel like a human being again. If you can make yourself exercise, be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after as you are already dehydrated.
 
Along with following the above tips, there are over the counter hangover cures available such as Chaser which is an all natural pill which is taken before you start drinking. Take two caplets with your first drink, then two more caplets every two to three hours while you continue to drink and avoid a hangover altogether!
