Foods to Enhance Sexual Desire

Certain foods have been long since thought to provide sexual arousal and enhancement, and are commonly referred to as aphrodisiacs. The term aphrodisiac is named after the Greek goddess, Aphrodite, who was the goddess of love and sexual beauty. Some foods are considered aphrodisiacs merely because of their phallic shape, some because of their aroma, and some because of the chemicals or nutrients that they contain. Here are five foods that are said to enhance your sexual desire and performance.

1. Avocados: The Aztecs used to call the Avocado tree the “testicle tree” as they thought the shape of this fruit was similar to a man’s genitalia. This fruit has a very soft and sensuous texture and is mainly considered an aphrodisiac because of its sexual shape.

2. Almonds: This nut has been a symbol of fertility for many years. The aroma of almonds are said to make females feel passionate and induce sexuality.

3. Chocolate: Chocolate contains certain chemicals which are thought to affect the brain’s neurotransmitters resulting in increased sexual desire. A combination of chocolate and wine are said to be an extremely great pair to an enhanced sex life.

4. Figs: An open fig is said to stimulate a woman’s sexual organs. Traditionally, breaking open a fig and eat it in front of a female is considered a very sexual and erotic act.

5. Oysters: History shows that Romans were the first people to think of oysters as an aphrodisiac food. Many people think this is because oysters look similar to the female sexual organs. If nothing else, oysters are very high in protein, and contain zinc which controls progesterone levels in men-too little zinc can cause impotence.

Although many of these foods have never been proven by science to enhance sexuality, there is certainly no harm in experimenting. Other sexual stimulants can be found at astronutrition.com.
