Eating For Beautiful Hair

A healthy diet does wonders for both your figure and skin but did you know it can actually give you naturally shiny, healthy hair and even prevent hair loss? Foods which have a high concentration of essential fatty acids, B Vitamins, folic acid, iron, and protein all promote optimal hair health. Here are three foods to eat to keep your locks lustrous.

1. Salmon. Wild salmon is full of omega 3 fatty acids and all kinds of “good” fats. Omega 3&undefined;s give you a healthy scalp which is where healthy hair starts. A dry scalp can make your hair look dull and can also give you dandruff. Eating salmon three times a week will not only give you beautiful, shiny hair but it will promote heart health as well.

2. Spinach. Spinach is a superfood and you should try to eat it as much as you can. It is an excellent source of calcium, Vitamin A, and C. These vitamins help your body produce sebum which acts like a natural conditioner on your hair. Instead of lettuce, use spinach in your salads and you will notice a difference in your locks in no time at all. You can even throw spinach into omlets, pasta sauces, soups, and sandwiches for a healthy kick.

3. Carrots. As a rule of thumb, colorful veggies are your best friend. Carrots fall under this category and are good for you for a number of different reasons-one being that they promote hair health. Again, carrots contain a high amount of Vitamin A which will make your hair shiny and smooth.

Along with eating a balanced diet, washing your hair with natural products will ensure it is healthy and not dry. Many of the products on the market today contain harsh chemical ingredients that do more damage than good. Also, try not to wash your hair every day as it can dry out your scalp. If you have longer hair that gets tangled or is dry, then use conditioner every day but keep the shampoo use to every two to three days.

I found the article very informative. It's true a healthy diet benefit us in many ways but to know which food benefits which part of our body is enlightening. With so many brands in the market choosing a good shampoo or conditioner which suits the texture of your hair is a tough job but I feel a healthy diet can keep that problem at bay. Let's go green and admire that glow and luster of good health.
