St. John's wort is commonly used in the treatment of depression and some other diseases like atopic dermatitis, menopause..etc. The active ingredients in St. John's wort are hypericin and other dianthrones, flavonoids, xanthones, and hyperforin and so it should be noted that St. John's wort cause serious interactions with even herbs, or supplements. There is high possibility that it can interfere with a number of medications so care should be taken to avoid the interactions.
