Caring For Your Lymphatic System

Your lymphatic system is a complex system in your body consisting of organs, ducts and modes. It is an essential system in our bodies that can get taxed, especially if we are overloading our bodies with toxins. The lymphatic system is responsible for transporting a watery fluid called lymph which carries immune cells throughout the body, fighting infection and keeping you healthy. It also plays a roll in draining unwanted fluid from cells and tissues as well as protecting the body from viruses and bacteria which can make you sick.

Proper lymphatic function is essential for good health because this hard working system supports every other system in the body.  The lymphatic system affects everything including the immune, digestive, detoxification, skin health, nervous sytem functioning, and even cancer in the body. Humans have twice as much lymph fluid in their body than blood. The lymph nodes are a very important detoxification system. They are about the size of peas and are strung along the lymph vessels throughout the body. If one of these lymph nodes gets blocked it may become swollen and quite noticeable. Usually this is nothing to be too concerned about as the fluid usually finds another way to exit your system and this simply means your lymphatic system is working properly. Although many people neglect their lymphatic system, it is important to take proper care of it to maintain good overall health. A blocked or clogged lymphatic system can be the cause a number of health problems.

The best way to take care of your lymphatic system is through clean living. Eliminate processed and fatty foods from your diet and only ingest organic foods that are easy on your body. Exercise as much as possible because exercise helps to clean your body out naturally without putting all of the stress on your lymphatic system. You should also cleanse regularly and limit your intake of alcohol and nicotine.
