3 Leading Antioxidant Juices
If you are looking for ways to get more antioxidants into your diet, try fresh fruit juices. Premade fruit juices usually contain high amounts of sugar, so look for juices that have no additives. Antioxidants are extremely important for our health because of their disease fighting ability. Oxidants are are naturally-occurring substances that derive from oxygen. Chemically speaking, oxygen always wants to "mate," and if it cant find a mate, it will latch onto anything. As it&undefined;s latching onto substances in our body, it can overwhelm them which causes diseases such as cancer. Antioxidants bond with molecules of oxygen which prevents them from attaching onto anything in our body and therefore prevents disease. And these juices have high levels of antioxidants. Here are the three leading antioxidant juices:
1.Pomegranate juice. Pomegranate is the healthiest of them all because it contains polyphenols, tannins and anthocyanins - all very beneficial types of antioxidants . It has been shown to prevent some types of cancer and also put you at a lower risk for heart disease. Some studies have shown that drinking a glass of pomegranate juice a day for one year reduced blood pressure and slowed down LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) oxidation.
2.Concord grape juice. This juice is also an excellent source of very potent antioxidants. Research indicates that those who consume purple and blue fruits and vegetables regularly have a much lower risk of metabolic syndrome.
3.Blueberry juice. Blueberry juice also contains tons of fiber, and is also very high in Vitamin C. One of the qualities of antioxidants found in this berry is that they can lower inflammation in the body. They also contain compounds having anti-cancer properties and enzymes that protect against cancer and reduce rapid tumor growth.
Keep in mind that even though fresh juices may not have any added sugar, they still contain a lot of natural sugar. In order to avoid consuming too much, limiting intake of all beverages except for herbal tea and water will help you stay slim. Stick to a few cups of fresh juice a day and load up on the fruit itself. You will get the antioxidant benefits and fill up without all of the sugar that the concentrated juice contains.
