4 Activities for Spring

With spring upon us, think about taking a break from the gym and taking advantage of the nicer weather. There are numerous outdoor activities to participate in, and after the long winter months, getting outdoors is a great way to get some sunshine and much needed Vitamin D. Here are a few exercise ideas that will get outside while getting you in shape for summer.

1. Hiking. Hiking is a great way to see the great outdoors and get in shape. Not only will hiking the trail let you get in touch with nature, but you will feel great about your accomplishment after completing a challenging hike. It is hard to get bored as the scenery is constantly changing, and there are always different challenges to overcome.

2. Running. Running burns body fat and builds endurance. It will also keep bones and joints strong, and offset premature aging. Another great advantage to running is that it only takes about half an hour every day, and there is no need to spend countless hours in the gym to see results. Try signing up for a 10k for motivation, and start training early.

3. Tennis. Tennis is another great way to tone up all over. You also work muscles in your body that do not normally get worked so be prepared to feel a little sore the first day after playing. If you have bad knee joints, be mindful of unexpected twists and turns, and be sure to wear proper footwear.

4. Walking. Walking is a very simple yet important form of exercise. It is easy on joints and muscles, but is great for relaxation. Try walking along the waterfront if you have access, or going through a park or other scenic route to keep things interesting.

By getting outdoors and getting active along with watching caloric intake, you will soon be on your way to toned body, and ready for the summer to come. Astronutrition also carries effective fat burning products that can help you achieve your goal weight before the summer months.
