5 Tips for Good Workout Routine
Creating a routine when working out is important. If, when you are at the gym, you simply scatter about from machine to weights to stretching and so on without direction, you might find yourself spending more time floundering than actually working, and your workout might take longer than it should.
Meeting with a trainer at least once is a great way to develop a plan that will offer you the best result within the least amount of time. If you enjoy what you are doing already and think you have your routine figured out then maybe you don’t need to see somebody, but, even if you are solid in your practice, the eyes of other people can help expose some things that you may be missing.
1. See someone. Having a trained professional to help expose your weaknesses (and illuminate your strengths) will help your progression.
2. Use a notebook to monitor your progress. Take notes on the amount of weight you are using, the amount of reps, and the exercises you are doing. That way you’ll be able to observe your improvement from when you started to the current moment.
3. Set a schedule to meet with a trainer at least once every three months. It is recommended that you change your routine regularly so that you don’t burn out or miss other muscle groups.
4. Have a plan before you get to the gym. Knowing your routine ahead of time sets up a more fluid experience.
5. Set goals and reward yourself when you reach them. Having goals allows for incremental progress that is much more rewarding than haphazard achievements.
