Burn Fat with Cardio
You can diet all you want but you will not still not be able to remove that stubborn fat without doing cardiovascular exercise. Some hate it, some love it, but everyone has to do it if they are looking to tone up and lose the pounds. Cardio is not only great for fat burning, but its essential for heart and lung health. Cardiovascular exercise is defined as any kind of exercise that causes the heart and lungs to work harder than they normally would. By increasing your heart rate, it strengthens this important muscle and also provides oxygenated blood throughout the rest of your body.
Although the definition of cardio exercise is extremely broad, there are a certain few exercises which really get your heart pumping and are truly effective at burning fat. Running is probably the best cardio activity that you can do. Not only is it cheap and can be done anywhere, but it burns about 600 calories per hour. If you add hills and sprints in your workout you can burn even more. The only downside of running is that it can put your knees at risk for problems. Runners should make sure they have the right shoes and also be very careful about running too much as it puts their knees at risk. If you are worried about your knees and other joints, try the elliptical machine. It provides a great cardio workout without the strain on the lower body. You will burn about 600 calories an hour depending on your resistance level. Another effective cardio exercise is bicycling. This can be done indoors or outdoors and is a fun workout. Biking can burn up to 500 calories in half an hour depending on the intensity. It is a great lower body workout and effective strengthens leg muslces.
If you are one of the many people who does not like doing cardiovascular workouts, try to encorporate them into your life bit by bit. For example, start by biking to work one day a week. After you get used to it start biking as much as you can. You can also start by going for a short jog in a local park or by the beach and slowly work up to running. The more you do cardio, the better you feel and the more weight you will lose .
