Aloe vera is a plant which can be easily grown and can be used as a natural cure for various ailments. Every day we put our skin through hell by exposing it to pollutants, eating foods that may contain toxins (processed or non organic foods), using household cleaning aids with chemicals in them, and using lotions, makeups, and soaps which can be drying. All of this can lead to skin problems such as dryness , redness, psoriasis, eczema, allergic reactions, and other irritations. Aloe vera is possibly natures best remedy for all of these conditions.
Our skin is a miraculous organ-it acts as a shield to defend us from so many external sources which can be harmful to our bodies. Unfortunately, as we get older so does our skin. Aloe vera can actually rejuvenate your skin both from applying it topically and ingesting the juice. Drinking pure aloe vera juice has even been shown to help cancer patients by activating white blood cells and promoting the growth of healthy cells which are not cancerous. It has also been shown to have a positive effect on arthritis, heartburn, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, pain, and asthma. Externally, aloe vera can be applied directly to the skin to heal stings, sunburns, sore muscles, scrapes, scalds, acne, burns, arthritis, sprains, bruises, cold sores, and practically any other skin problem that you may have.
You can find aloe vera juice in most health food stores-make sure that it is organic and pure without any additives. The amount which you ingest may be dependent on what you are using it for, but many people drink it every day for prevention of ulcers, indigestion, and other stomach problems. It is easily mixed with juice to make a mild tasting drink that is easy to ingest daily.
