4 Extreme Health Risks to Avoid

You may feel guilty for skipping a week at the gym or devouring that candy bar but don’t feel so bad. It’s true that inactivity and poor eating habits are not good for you, but as long as they are kept to a minimum you’re ok. Some activities that many people do not think twice about can be extremely detrimental to your health. Here are four of the worst things that you can do to your body.

Tanning. Melanoma kills about 8,000 people in the United States alone each year. Although it hasn’t been proven that melanoma is caused directly by tanning, there is definitely some kind of connection between the two. Never use tanning beds and if you are in the sun make sure you are wearing sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30..

Illegal drug use. Drugs which are illegal are so for a legitimate reason. Most of them are extremely unhealthy and can cause numerous health problems. Thousands of people die from overdoses each year, not to mention that users are much more likely to contract HIV or other sexual diseases.

Unsafe sex. Sexual protection is so important these days, with the rise of sexual    diseases. Millions of people worldwide are diagnosed with sexually transmitted diseases yearly-almost all of these can be prevented by condoms and other types of protection.

Toxin Exposure. We are all subject to exposure to toxins daily, but some toxins can do extreme damage to the human body. Pollutants, dust, and some toxins found in food are very hard to avoid but others such as those produced from candles or cleaning agents can be avoided. Try buying natural bees wax candles and sticking to chemical free, all natural cleaners such as vinegar and water.

Although you can’t control all aspects of your health, making good choices on a daily basis will minimize your risk for preventable diseases and other health conditions.
